Seek First To Understand, Then Be Understood

AUDIO HERE

Wow, today’s message felt big to me. In today’s Dream Big Noon-Spiration (Brought to you by Sisterhood Connections Network) it was some light around Collective Community “Seek first to understand, then be understood”. This is actually habit #5 in Steven Covey’s book 7 Habits of Effective People, he shares some really good examples of how we can often times bring in our own “stuff” when engaging in communication with another person.

The Universe/God was speaking to me through people, experiences, and books this last week to birth today’s message. I don’t know about you, but I can think of times whether it’s been a mom, a wife, a sister, or a coach where I hear what the person is saying and go right into my own judgments or trying to “fix” and not to understand. We can create compassionate communication when we do seek to understand, shifting our perspective outside our own ego and into our hearts to really hear what they are saying. I shared personal insight and also Steven Covey’s perspective today, I encourage you to listen with an open heart and mind today, and BE inspired for transformation.

I invite you before you listen to the rest of today’s message, to place your hand over your heart and repeat after me: “I seek to first understand, then be understood”. May the support and understanding come back to you in your life as you learn shift~align~transform techniques to create more harmony and balance in your life. May you be blessed abundantly in your life, as I send blessings your way today! Love, Jena
