SHHH… Quiet my child, have Faith it’s not really a race

AUDIO #285

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Today’s Dream Big Noon-Spiration was on another level for me. God’s Divine message was so incredible I wish the whole world could hear it. I feel like everyone could resonate with today’s message about trusting the process. When we slip and fall there is a reason and you will win with a slow and steady pace, which is needed when you build your dreams!

Often times when things are not going as I, in my human flesh, wants them to go, God whispers to my spirit “shhhhhh….. quiet child, have faith. Your time is coming and it’s not time yet, trust in the process I am still helping you grow in other areas”.

Today I read an incredible blog about the Tortoise and The Hare, and I am quoting Patrick Eblad’s Blog because I think he speaks the story and “The Hare Mindset” just as I would say it:

The Tortoise Mindset:

How Slow & Steady Wins the Race of Life

Have you ever heard Aesop’s fable about the Tortoise and the Hare? It goes something like this:

There once was a speedy hare who bragged about how fast he could run. Tired of hearing him boast, slow and steady, the tutoise, challenged him to a race. All animals in the forest gathered to watch. Hare ran down the road for a while and then paused to rest. He looked back at slow and steady and cried out, “how do you expect to win this race when you are walking along at your slow, slow pace?” Hare stretched himself out alongside the road and fell asleep, thinking, “there is plenty of time to relax.”

Slow and steady walked and walked. He never, ever stopped until he came to the finish line. The animals who were watching cheered so loudly for Tortoise, they woke up Hare. Hare stretched and yawned and began to run again, but it was too late. Turtoise was over the line. After that, Hare always reminded himself, “Don’t brag about your lightning pace, for slow and steady won the race!”

As in several of Aesop’s fables, the moral of this story is ambiguous and has been interpreted differently throughout history. Since that’s case, I thought I’d make up my own.

The Hare Mindset:

These days, most people try to live like the Hare. Not necessarily in the way that they’re bragging and boasting and challenging random turtles to sprint races (although some crazy nuts might), but rather that they want things to go FAST.

And when you think about the contemporary obsession with immediate results and instant gratification we’re being sold every day, this makes perfect sense. Everywhere we look there are promises of getting rich quick, lotteries that’ll make you an overnight millionaire, fad diets and training programs that’ll transform your appearance in weeks or days.

You can get fast food, one-hour glasses, thirty-minute photo processing, overnight mail, microwaved food, instant hot water, and emails and text messages delivered anywhere in the world on a seconds notice.

These things have made us expect instant results to the point that when we don’t get them, we get discouraged and immediately quit.

But the truth is lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. And that is why I suggest we change our approach. READ MORE HERE ON PATRICKS BLOG

I love how he articulates the Hare’s mindset, as I agree with what Patrick is saying here about the world we live in today! Our brains have been predisposed to instant gratification and our dopamine levels are all out of whack. I know that I personally have fallen in that trap too! Listen to the FULL MESSAGE HERE for the whole replay of today’s Dream Big Noon-Spiration!

I hoped today inspired you as much as it did me! Make today great by recognizing that YOU ARE SPECIAL and everyone in your life is special and offers something very unique! This isn’t a race, yet, when we stay in the walk of faith, all kinds of miracles open up for us in our life. Shhhhhh child, your time may not be right either, be the tortoise, trust and have faith that all will workout. There is no competition and you have already won the game. You win it daily by being present and enjoying the steps along the way.
